About us
Both Bernedoodles and Bordoodles are intentional crossbreeds, bred to be loyal, smart and beautiful family companions. We lovingly breed Bernedoodles and Bordoodles on our small ranch in Southwest Colorado. I wholeheartedly believe that Bernedoodles and Bordoodles, that are bred intentionally for health, temperament and sound structure, are the perfect companion dogs. In fact, that is their primary purpose, to become someone’s loyal companion! Our dogs are part of our family and live in our home with us. They accompany us with outside chores, camping trips, hikes and horseback rides. I don’t want to lose the friendship and bond that I have with my dogs. They are family, not livestock.
In the beginning….
I have always loved dogs. I grew up on a small farm in Iowa. The first dog I remember living in the house with us was a small poodle named Mitzi. She was allowed on the furniture and in bed with us. My mom was a fastidious housekeeper, but, Mitzi didn’t shed. Now I realize why she was allowed in the house!
How I got started…
My Standard Poodle, Esther was the foundation of our program. I knew I wanted to breed her to a Border Collie. The Border Collies we have had on our ranch have been active, loving, intelligent and loyal, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts! Unfortunately large dogs have a shorter life span and more health problems than smaller breeds. This is why I chose to breed multigen BERNEDOODLES. First and foremost I select health tested parents with pleasing temperaments. The poodle genetics, (hybrid vigor,) has a big impact on breeding healthier dogs with longer life spans while retaining the beauty and endearing personality of the Bernese Mountain Dog. https://youtu.be/rjvo6_LqdyQ
Your new best friend…
A canine companion brings so much energy, love and friendship to one’s life. I can’t imagine my life without a dog. We breed loyal companions and family members with pleasing personalities and steady temperaments, along with health and longevity. Because they’re family members, we like our dogs to join us. We hope to bring a wonderful companion dog to your home too!
